Compete is looking for a Senior Science Engineer to join our team. Working for Compete enables you to work on products that touch millions of users. Our environment is fast-paced with user-centered, iterative design and development methodologies.

You will be focused on creating software and solutions for robust reporting and tracking of Compete’s core business inputs.  This position requires the ability to interact with the gamut of our organization including executives, engineers, analysts, and all business units.  The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of field experience dealing with large data volumes and a track record of creative problem solving and innovation.

What your background should look like:

  • MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
  • Solid coding background (7+ years), preferably with python and bask
  • Math theory and practical application experience
  • Functional programming experience a big plus
  • Statistical and data analysis experience
  • Knowledge of new emerging data technologies like Hadoop is helpful

Best candidates will have experience with:
  • Large complex data sets
  • Multiple mathematical/statistical data tests
  • Development of mathematical data normalization algorithms including identification of anomalies
