We are seeking an outstanding business development professional to join our Financial Services team. This role will focus on the marketing and sale of Compete’s products and services to new and existing clients in the consumer banking, investing, and insurance markets. The Sales Director will be responsible for client acquisition strategies as well as maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Penetrate new accounts with compelling ROI arguments
- Build relationships with key decision makers in the client’s online marketing, sales, and servicing teams
- Work with clients to understand their business needs, then configure services based on Compete’s capabilities to address those needs
- Negotiate contract terms and manage overall client relationships
- Renew client accounts
- Network across client organizations to penetrate additional product lines and functional areas
- Fuel Compete’s new product development with ideas and feedback from clients and prospects
- Be a leader on the team, work closely with Client Services and other Sales team members, and participate in team and company-wide activities
Required skills include a critical mass of the following:
- 2-3 years of business development or sales experience at top tier 10% of all sales peers in each role
- 2-3 years of strategy consulting or management consulting experience
- 2-3 years of e-business experience (may include web marketing or sales, SEO or SEM, web analytics, etc.)
- 2-3 years of market research or experience selling research
- 2-3 years of financial services experience or a strong network of industry contacts
- Experience making consulting-oriented presentations to executive-level internet or agency sector executives
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; high degree of comfort manipulating and interpreting complex data sets
- Demonstrated track record of developing and managing long-term client relationships;
- Drive, determination and a demonstrated ability to ‘get stuff done’
- Outstanding professional, personal, and client references
- MBA preferred
- Sales training experience in Sandler, Wilson Learning, or other sales strategic or consultative sales training is a plus
