General Manager, Automotive, Telecommunications and Media
Adam brings over a decade of experience in the research and market intelligence industry to Compete. As General Manager of the Automotive, Telecommunications & Media practices, he leads teams of client services professionals and analysts to deliver comprehensive analysis of consumers and competitive intelligence. Prior to joining Compete, Adam was a Senior Analyst at the Yankee Group. Previously, he was the Director of Wireless Research at InfoTek Research and a Senior Analyst of Mobile Wireless Research at The Strategis Group.
Adam has a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from American University.
Ryan Burke
Director of Sales and Business Development
Over the past decade, Ryan has worked with telecommunications and media companies helping them optimize their customer acquisition, conversion and retention initiatives driven through the online channel. One of the founding members of the practice, Ryan builds and manages client relationships and partnerships with wireless and handset providers, MVNOs, online agents and companies offering bundled voice, wireless, data, internet and entertainment services. Prior to joining Compete, Ryan was a senior associate at the digital strategy consulting firm Mainspring, where he focused on developing business from technology and media companies seeking to leverage the online channel. Prior to Mainspring, Ryan worked for Goldman Sachs in their private client services group.

Shane Dark
Director
Shane brings over a decade of online experience to Compete, focusing most recently on eBusiness strategic management, analytics and product management in the telecommunications industry. As a Director, Shane taps consumer behavior data to advise wireless providers and telecom companies on strategies to win, keep and grow customers more effectively. Prior to joining Compete, Shane was an eBusiness Product Manager for Sprint where he had multiple roles in strategic development, capabilities planning, business metric management, concept development and prioritization, data management and analytics. Previously, he was a Product Analyst for FriendlyWorks, Inc., an Internet startup offering an email and web browsing system for seniors.
Shane has a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing his MBA with a concentration in Strategic Management at the University of Kansas.
Miro Kazakoff
Director
Miro brings expertise in strategic decision making and online consumer behavior to Compete. As a Director in the telecommunications and media practice, Miro focuses on evaluating in-market consumer demand for wireless devices. Leading Compete’s handset research services, Miro advises OEMs and carriers on marketing and product decisions for handsets and mobile devices. Prior to joining Compete, Miro was a Senior Associate Consultant with Bain & Company, where he helped develop growth strategies for consumer and technology-oriented companies. Previously, he was a marketer with Varsity-Group, a company that pioneered selling textbooks over the Internet direct to students and parents.
Miro graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University.
Karen Parker
Managing Director
Karen brings more than 14 years of product development and consulting experience in high technology to Compete that includes positions at PRTM and KBACE. As a Managing Director in the telecom & media practice, Karen leverages this experience to advise several strategic accounts. Prior to joining Compete, Karen was Product Manager for KBACE Technologies, where she managed product development and operations. Previously at NaviPath, an Internet infrastructure provider, Karen was a Senior Director of Business Integration and managed critical projects. Karen has also been a Principal at the high-technology management consulting firm of Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (PRTM), where she assisted wireless, wireline, Internet and communications companies with their business strategies / product development.
Karen holds a BA and MS from the University of California and an MBA from Dartmouth College.
