Compete, Inc.'s Voicebox Named as Finalist for the 2006 MITX Technology Awards
Third Annual MITX What's Next Forum & Technology Awards Recognize Outstanding Technology Advancements in New England Region
Boston, MA - May 31, 2006- Compete, Inc. today announced that it has been named as a finalist for the 3rd Annual Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) Technology Awards. The MITX What's Next Forum & Technology Awards recognize innovative technologies developed in the New England area, as well as the individuals and organizations responsible for driving these advancements. MITX is the region's premier association for thought leadership, technology trends, business networking and professional training and development.
Compete's Voicebox platform has been nominated for enabling companies to establish deeper, more informed customer relationships. For the MITX Technology Awards, Compete featured a Upromise-branded PC desktop application enabled by Voicebox. Last October, Compete announced that Upromise, the nation's largest privately-funded service helping families save for college, would offer a Voicebox-powered desktop application making it easier for members to receive college savings on their purchases

Compete, Inc. will be recognized with the other finalists in the category of Customer Relationship Application at an awards ceremony attended by the region's top technology and business professionals. Winners will be announced at the ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. This year's keynote speaker and special honoree is Nicholas Negroponte, co-founder of the MIT Media Lab, esteemed author and founder and Chairman of the non-profit association One Laptop per Child.
The ceremony is preceded by the What's Next Forum, a panel discussion moderated by Jason Pontin, Editor-in-Chief of Technology Review. The topic, What's Next for the Social Web, will be a forward-looking discussion about the next platforms and paradigms to shape the social web.
